FAQ

Where is the office located?

The office is located inside of Harmony Chiropractic.

25 Messenger Street Plainville, MA 02762

How long is a typical session?

Sessions run 55 minutes. I tend to lose track of time. Because I value and respect each client’s time, I try my very best to adhere to our set time together.

Roughly with around 5-10 minutes left in your session, we will start summarizing our time together and go over any homework or assignments to work on during the week.

Do you assign homework?

Sometimes, yes, you may be asked to do “homework” or an assignment. I promise this will not take up much of your time! It may include some deliberate reflection on what we discovered in session, a journal entry, worksheets, etc.

Think of therapy like music lessons; if you only practice the violin when you have your lesson, you won’t benefit nearly as much as if you practiced every day!

It’s the same with therapy. You will learn strategies, coping skills, and even new ways of thinking. But you will only grow if you use these new concepts in your day-to-day life!

Do you offer video or in-person sessions?

Both! If for whatever reason you are more comfortable attending your session via your phone or computer that works, too.

I also find that some clients prefer telehealth because it takes the drive time out of their busy schedules.

Do I have to tell you everything?

No. But the more you share, the more I can help you on your journey. Trust me; I know it can be hard to open up to a stranger. I don’t expect you to lay it all out on the table in the first session. Or the second. Or third. But I hope that with each session, you become more and more comfortable to open up and share.

I can only work with what you give me.

It’s not uncommon to feel we have things that are so shameful, or so dark, or so difficult to share. As humans, we don’t want to be judged or rejected. I promise you will never face judgment or be rejected by me.

Your time with me is a safe and confidential space to share whatever you need to so you may grow and live empowered.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

Yes! Crying is a natural and therapeutic release for all sorts of emotions and is perfectly okay to do in front of me. I have tissues ready for you if you need them. And they are the good, soft ones. Not the ones that leave your nose raw.

Do I have to lie on a couch?

Only if you want to. I don’t care if you lie on the couch, sit in a chair, stand, or sit on the floor. It’s your time and your space during your session. Get comfy!

Rock, Paper, or Scissors?

Paper. I always start with paper. Although, now that you know my strategy, we can’t play together.
