About

Why Therapy?

You’ve tried self-help books, talking with friends, and maybe you ignore what is bothering you. You’ve even tried convincing yourself that you’re fine.

Everything is fine. But it’s not. You’re not fine.

You long to free the person buried deep under the layers that are suffocating you.

Whatever is going on in your world is bigger than you can sort out and handle right now. You need someone who can help you see things more clearly and empathize with you in an open-minded and non-biased way.

It’s time to get help – and there’s no shame in that.

It’s brave – and a way of empowering yourself.

How therapy and my time with you will work…

Our time together will always be a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore and uncover the reasons that have led you to live less than your best life.

Together, we‘ll uncover the layers that have weighed you down at a pace that encourages forward progress but also respects your need to process and, in some cases, grieve what comes to the surface.

My personality tends to be a mix of humor and sarcasm, which you will most likely see in our sessions together. I’ll be one of the biggest fans in your journey, but I’ll also challenge negative thinking or beliefs that you may have.

Through recognizing discrepancies in your emotions or patterns in destructive behaviors, you’ll be able to handle your world and situations with a new strength where you once saw weakness.

Hi, I’m Jessica.

I can remember always having a fascination with therapy, beginning from a young age when I went to my own therapist after my parents’ divorce. I didn’t quite understand it then, but my experience in that office would ultimately lay the foundation for my becoming a therapist.

It took me a little while to find my path here. I traveled, was an elementary school teacher, and even went to law school for a year before I finally listened to my heart. But better late than never, right?

I received my Bachelor’s from UMass, Amherst in 2002. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and my Play Therapy certificate from the University of Central Florida in 2008.

I have two sons and am obsessed with New England sports, especially the New England Revolution!
